Active-duty Military personnel & families tour free

One of more than 1,800 Blue Star Museums, we offer free admission for all active duty military personnel, including Reserve and National Guard, and up to 5 family members. Just show your ID. Intended for individual families. Groups of 10 or more pay group rates.

  • Plan to spend at least 90 minutes. Many spend hours touring our grounds.

  • Last time to start touring is 1 hour before closing.

  • We accept credit cards.

  • Tours are self-guided, but we can provide children and school groups with scavenger hunts and other activities on request.

  • Dress for being outdoors. Our buildings are not heated or cooled and you will be walking outdoors between buildings.

  • Optimum student to chaperone ratio is 8 to 1. Chaperones tour for free, so the more the merrier.

  • Wear sturdy shoes for navigating the boardwalk and uneven ground.

  • Most buildings and accessibility. Our restrooms are handicapped accessible. We can provide wheelchairs.

  • Bring snacks or picnic lunches to eat at the museum or a local park. We have picnic tables. You'll also find a picnic shelter and playground in Northern Lights Tower Park, just across our parking lot.

  • Soda, water & souvenirs. Beverages and souvenirs are available in the museum store. No admission required to patronize the store.

  • Shopping tip for school groups. To avoid losses, have students make gift shop purchases after touring the museum.
